About Heman

Heman is a lover of numbers and patterns, and has always been keen on applying these patterns to solve real-life problems. Prior to co-founding Circa, Heman was Vice President - Principal Architect and Vice President - Head of Data Solutions and Analytics at iptiQ by Swiss Re, delivering innovative protection solutions within the Life Insurance space. As a seasoned technology leader, he is adept in building IT products from ground-up to enterprise scale. He specializes in payment technology, cloud computing, data analytics, and information security and graduated from the Amrita Institute of Technology Science with a BTech in Information Technology.

Why Circa?

To me, this goes back to even pre-Circa. I welcomed a new resident at one of my investment properties in Chicago, and it did not get off to a great start. I usually got a text message around 7am at the beginning of the month saying something like "I am sorry, I can't pay rent." I never knew whether he couldn't pay rent that day, that month, or ever. I had a mortgage to pay and hated waking up to that text. Eventually, I started seeing a pattern in his requests and then tried letting him to break his rent into 2 or 3 payments across the month on set dates. He's been living in my property for over 9 years now and I receive his rent according to his flexible schedule like clockwork. Most importantly, it completely changed the nature of our relationship... it was really tough and now it's really easy! I know if this worked wonders for my one resident, it has the potential to benefit millions of households across America!
